We took the camper to the Brown’s mom and stepdad’s house at Beaver Lake and set up in the neighbor’s driveway. We had a great time swimming, boating, tubeing and visiting. We went on a journey about 20 minutes in the boat to see some fireworks on the 4th. Shot some BBguns and spent some time relaxing. Of cource the kids set off some fireworks of their own and nobody got hurt. A complete success!

Easter at the Van Campen’s was fun for all. The family got together for egg hunting and food and good times.

We had Christmas at the Van Campen household a little late this year. Peggy had some heart bypass surgery over Christmas and is recovering nicely. We are all grateful to be able to celebrate Christmas this January. We all got together and feasted and opened presents.

I thing the theme this year had to be giving Penny a hard time about her mashed potatoes. Aparently Mathew (who was not in attendance this year) made a comment about Penny’s rubbery mashed potatoes to his mom, Jo Dee a few days prior. Penny took this to heart and decided to prove them wrong. She took a big ol’ pot of homemade potatoes and everyone had to remember the potatoes of yesteryear and a lot of comments were made. Not all the comments were positive. Did you put any butter in them? Is there any salt in there? Did you make them today? It was all tounge in cheek of cource. After dinner three of us got to move the refrigerator from the garage to the basement. I honestly didn’t think we were going to make the turn at the bottom of the stairs, but we prevailed. Minor damage to the house and a slight modification to the railing, but all in all a suceesful endevour.

The Labor Day picnic was a success! Steven, Chloe, Chandler, Chris, and Jennifer all came over for a cookout and swim party. We all had a lot of fun.
Chandler realy enjoyed the dog’s little pool.
