Heart concert at First Council Casino

I went to the Heart concert Saturday night. I ended up going by myself as no one could go. Penny didn't want to go and had to work Sunday morning. I got to see the new facility at the Casino. It is pretty good. Not too small or too big. I would say it holds about 3000 or so. The seating suck though. Folding chairs on a concrete floor. Still all in all, it was a good time for a reasonable price. The opening act was Queen of Monroe. They are from Norman, Ok. I will continue to go there for concerts. They have a lot of them coming up. Here are some pictures of the facility. Video at the bottom of this post.

Midwest Rockfest at Lake Afton

Wow, 3 days of bands all day long on 2 stages. All at our usual lake. We camped on the other side of the lake ventured over to the West side of the lake to enjoy Styx, Winger, Twisted Sister, and lots of other bands in the early evening to midnight, Friday and Saturday night. Steven and his girlfriend, Brandy joined us for the shows and we met up with Louis, Lori, Kelly and Billy for a real good time. This was one awesome event!

After we returned, Penny was playing with Jax and Steven's dog, Tuts.

Jeffrey’s 8th grade promotion

We are so proud of Jeff for making through Middle School. Tonight his class had a promotion ceremony where they are all recognized for passing through to High School. He WORE A TIE!!! I took some video. But it will be a little bit before I get it done.

Matt Graduates from Haven High

We are all so proud of Matt for graduating. He is a great kid. JoDee and Tom had a party for him at Carriage Crossing restaurant in Yoder.

Bon Jovi Concert

Penny and I went to the Bon Jovi concert at the new Intrust Bank Arena. It was a great concert. They've still got it after 27 years. A really good performance and the stage show was awesome. They had lots of movable screens that displayed live video as well as produced content. A really top notch show. Video at the bottom of this post.

Jeff gets his learner’s permit

Haysville Fall Festival 2009

Penny and I spent an hour or so in the afternoon and checked out the Fall Festival this year. Pretty much the same thing it always is. We browsed the crap, I mean craft vendors. We watched a little of the tracktor pull. We even saw a junior band (tweens jamming the classic rock). Halloween Party 2009

Clayton and Penny went to our friends' Daryl and Jen's Halloween Party this year. We were glad to have been invited this year after hearing so much about it from Gayle and Darlene. We had a great time! Clayton went as Slash, and Penny was a zombie nurse!

Riverfest – Kansas Concert 2009

Jeffrey and Clayton head to West Bank Stage to see Kansas perform. We met up with Tom and Louis and had great seats to watch a great performance. The crowd was large but manageable this year. Penny Graduates from CNA school

Penny and Steven finished their CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) class this week. We are all proud of them. They learned lots of interesting things and are on their way toward a new carreer in the nursing field. Penny took some pictures and wants to share them here.
