Craps Table Rebuild Part 2

Posted April 8, 2013
I’m going to make the padded rail detachable from the railing under it. In order to do this, I need to insert some flush mount nutplates and use machine screws from below. Before I do that, the padded rail will need to be a solid piece all the way around. Right now it is several pieces screwed to the railing under it.
I spent the last few days building little splices of wood to connect the padded rail wood.
Here is the rail with the vinyl removed. The splices are in and it is ready to put the nutplates in.
I’ve finished putting them in, a total of 20, all the way around. and placed it all upside down on the new vinyl (actually pleather) that I got.
Here it is with the padded rail removed and ready to cover.
I followed the Zerolux – Rail Vinyl Covering guide from VvvJRvvV pretty much. So far it seems to work great.
With the padded railĀ separatedĀ from the railing under it, I can actually wrap the covering around both the inside and outside edge.
Almost done! Hopefully tomorrow, I can get the covering done.
